One's family is where we come from, and not every family is helpful for one's growth, but We're Lucky is an ode to the people that came before, especially family. But also other key people that blazed a trail and encouraged one to do so as well, by empowering and not dictating one's path. This is a very personal song for Jay Jules and speaks directly to his parents. For the first time in the album there is some type of "arriving" sensed, the instrumentation carries a calm vibe, with a driving drum groove. Especially the instrumental outro touches on this emotion of arriving and reminiscing.
